Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Still battling this comparison of artificial intelligence vs anointed intelligence as we power through this new series. This week, it’s a hot buzzword: CANCEL CULTURE.
It started as a light-hearted slang within a small group and evolved rapidly into a viral social machine where the general population is driven to cultural trends of polarization and moral absolutism primarily through social media and digital platforms.
This new reality developed a sort of Moral Absolutism, which says, certain moral rules apply to ALL individuals, regardless of their culture, beliefs, or personal circumstances; everything is black and white. In the wake of its explosion, a person’s entire identity is reduced to one tweet, one comment, or one bad moment. Growth and transformation get squeezed out as people are seen as part of the solution, or the problem.
Initially a tool for accountability, Cancel Culture has been weaponized by the masses and is characterized by extreme division, ideological loyalty, and online mob dynamics.
The results are harsh and scream of Artificial Intelligence!
The Truth gets buried. Authenticity feels too dangerous. Fear runs culture. Therefore, the truth is no longer safe to come out. It’s not longer sought after. Truth is replaced with relevance.
The Landmines get stomped. Eggshells turn into landmines. Where something used to be sensitive (had to be treaded carefully) but was not a total loss, now, if something triggers it, is a total bombshell. The damage is catastrophic and there is nothing left to repair.
The Trust gets broken. Relationships grow shallow and fragile. People don’t know how to disagree without disconnecting. Hard conversations are avoided, forgiveness is forgotten, and long-haul relationships are subbed for short-term transactions. Loneliness grows global.
The past gets permanent. What’s being lost is the language of repentance, grace, and reconciliation. It’s being replaced with eternal exile. The world is growing desperate for forgiveness but has no idea how to attain it, give it, experience it, or receive it.
Acts 10. Peter is in Joppa and went up on the roof of the house while lunch was being prepared. He was praying but he was hungry…and fell into a trance (an out of body imaginative experience - a daydream).
The LORD showed him a sheet with animals of unclean variety. God said kill and eat. He refused since he had NEVER eaten anything unclean; 3 times the same dream and message.
The LORD said not to call anything IMPURE that God has made clean. Peter stops his Cancel Culture mindset, his Artificial Intelligence and exchanges it for Anointed Intelligence which promotes CROSS CULTURE.
We’re not talking about relating to other cultures or comparing them…I mean we are. But we are talking more about creating a new culture altogether, one that is primarily and most importantly, built upon the Cross of Jesus.
Cancel Culture makes us quick to judge
Cross Culture makes us quicker to accept
Cancel Culture makes us quick to silence
Cross Culture makes us quicker to seek truth
Cancel Culture makes us quick to shame
Cross Culture makes us quick to restore
Cancel Culture makes us quick to retaliate
Cross Culture makes us quicker to forgive
May you find more grace as you make the shift toward Anointed Intelligence.
